Israel fired dozens of rockets into southern Lebanon after Hezbollah launched hundreds of missiles and drones against Israeli military targets early on Sunday in an escalation that is intensifying fears of an all-out war in the Middle East. Earlier on Sunday, Israel said it had launched airstrikes on southern Lebanon in a "preemptive" attack after it detected Hezbollah's preparations to strike northern Israel.
