Local advocate promotes Down Syndrome awareness, encourages seeing potential not limits

March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day and one local advocate is spreading awareness about the genetic disorder that hits close to home for her family. DeAnn Hunt serves as President of the Arkansas Down Syndrome Association and said down syndrome is the most common genetically occurring disorder. Hunt spends her time educating other people on down syndrome and putting on events to raise awareness for the disorder.
