Barbados has welcomed the inclusion of Caribbean states in discussions at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, ECLAC. Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey, at a previous forum, had pushed for greater involvement of the Caribbean. Minister Humphrey extended thanks to the leadership of ECLAC for making the region feel more welcomed and integrated into various discussions. The Barbadian Minister is in Peru for the 40th session of ECLAC. He participated in a panel discussion in how to reduce inequality and foster inclusion and social mobility on day two of the event. During that forum, he shared the policies implemented by Barbados aimed at reducing inequality. Mr. Humphrey wants the region to do away with the notion that there's a technical solution for every challenge.
