Local youth advocate wants UN system updated
A Barbadian youth advocate wants the United Nations system updated. President of the Barbados Youth Development Council, BYDC, Caleb Brathwaite says the system must be able to better serve the youth in 2024 and beyond. Mr. Brathwaite's comments came during a high-level dialogue with the UN Secretary-General at Action Days Ahead of the summit of the future. The Summit is a high-level event, that brings world leaders together to forge a new international consensus on how we deliver a better present and safeguard the future. The BYDC head acknowledged action is needed as follow-ups to agreements at the high-level meetings. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres impressed on the need to listen to the youth and have them participate in the decision-making process.
