Loss of cabinet support ‘triggered’ resignation of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

University of Ottowa Professor of Public Affairs Patrick Fafard claims Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s resignation was “triggered” by a loss of cabinet support. “The triggering event was … the loss of support in his cabinet and his caucus,” Mr Fafard said. “He’s firmly believed that he was the right person to lead his party into the next election but I think what’s become clear is that fewer and fewer people share that view and it was time for him to make room.”
