Luigi Mangione pleads not guilty to murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO
Luigi Mangione, the man accused of fatally gunning down health insurance executive Brian Thompson on a Manhattan street, pleaded not guilty on Monday to New York state murder charges. Mangione, 26, was escorted into Judge Gregory Carro's 13th-floor courtroom in the New York state criminal courthouse in lower Manhattan. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Mangione's attorney Karen Friedman Agnifilo requested immediate, expedited discovery in the case, which the judge agreed with. “Like every other defendant, he's entitled to a presumption of innocence, but unfortunately the way this has been handled so far — his rights are being violated,” Agnifilo said. New York Prosecutor Joel Seidemann said he had “never seen a case with such volume of evidence, aside from the issue [of] the quality of the evidence.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/10931124/luigi-mangione-state-charges-not-guilty-plea/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #LuigiMangione #UnitedHealthcare
