Major airlines have an ‘obligation’ to fly rural and regional routes

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson discusses whether the major Australian airlines Qantas and Virgin should fly on rural and regional routes amid Rex Airlines going into voluntary administration. “I feel for people in these rural and regional areas,” Ms Hanson told Sky News host Chris Kenny. "Is Qantas, is Virgin going to take up the slack? And I think they should. “They are an airline operating in Australia and I think they have an obligation to the people of these rural and regional areas that they do provide a service at a cost that people can afford.”
