Major changes to the naming of Government facilities
Government is taking the sole responsibility of naming national facilities away from politicians. Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley made the announcement today as she delivered remarks at the opening of the Leroy Trotman Building Customs House, the new home of the Customs Office. Ms. Mottley says the National Honours Committee will soon be tasked with the responsibility for consideration and recommendations to Cabinet for the naming of public buildings and properties. A delighted Sir Roy Trotman, who was joined by family and friends, says he's thankful for the honour bestowed upon him while he is still alive. The new state-of-the-art facility will make it possible for all the divisions in the Customs Department to be housed under one roof.
