Man armed with chainsaw in custody after standoff in Mission Hills

An intersection in Mission Hills was shut down for nearly three hours this afternoon during a standoff between LAPD crisis negotiators and a man in his 60s. Officers say he was visibly distressed and they feared he might light himself on fire after pouring gasoline on his body with a lighter in his hand.
