Many success stories from National Summer Camp
As public schools close for the summer holidays, the National Summer Camp is being positioned as an avenue through which young Barbadians will be occupied. The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment will be hosting over 40 camps across Barbados, including one for people with disabilities in partnership with the National Disabilities Unit. Youth Commissioner and Coordinator of the National Camps Programme, Carolyn Garnes, says there have been many success stories since the introduction of the camps. Ms. Garnes says through collaboration with other Ministries and corporate Barbados the camps will cater to several disciplines.
