Marineland sees 4th beluga death in a year, amid ongoing animal welfare probe

Another beluga whale has died at Marineland — but despite this latest death, Ontario’s solicitor general has remained quiet about the status of an animal welfare probe, which has been underway since 2020. Provincial records show this is the fourth beluga death that has occurred at the Niagara Falls tourist attraction in just the past year. Since 2019, 16 belugas and one killer whale have died. Marineland has yet to comment on the whale’s death. Sean O’Shea has more on the calls for something to be done.
