Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang Republic Act 12064 o Philippine Maritime Zones Act at Republic Act 12065 o Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act. Pinirmahan ng Pangulo ang dalawang bagong batas sa Malacanang nitong Biyernes (November 8). Layunin ng RA 12064 na palakasin ang hurisdiksyon ng Pilipinas sa mga karagatan nito base sa UNCLOS o United Nations Convention on the Laws of the Sea. Habang ang RA 12065 naman ang magtatakda ng sea at air routes kung saan papayagang dumaan ang mga foreign vessels at aircraft.
