Mary Jane Veloso sings Indonesian national anthem before leaving Jakarta

Filipina inmate Mary Jane Veloso expressed her gratitude to Indonesia and Philippine officials on Tuesday, ahead of her departure from Jakarta for Manila. The 39-year-old Veloso is set to return home after 14 years of incarceration, having been spared execution in 2015. Speaking in fluent Bahasa Indonesia, Veloso said she was happy to be going home but also "a little sad," as Indonesia has become her second home. She sang the Indonesian national anthem before the end of the press conference in Jakarta.
