Mbarara Referral Hospital is seeking over 1 billion shillings to equip its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to provide better support to preterm babies. The hospital is the only one offering neonatal specialized services in the western region and records over 5,000 newborns annually, with preterm babies accounting for about 45 percent.
