Mbongeni Ngema | Director for the Centre for Creative Arts at UKZN pays tribute

Tributes have been pouring in for veteran music and theatre legend Mbongeni Ngema following his death Wednesday. Ngema, best known for writing the stage play, Sarafina! was killed in a car accident in Mbizana in the Eastern Cape. In his tribute to Ngema, the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Dr Ismail Mahomed, described him as a theatre, film and music icon. Mahomed has called on society to use this moment to reflect on the man and his legacy and not to overshadow it bringing up his flaws. He spoke with eNCA.
