The lines have been drawn for the battle in Wayanad with both the LDF and BJP candidates filing their nominations on Thursday. Accompanied by senior CPI leaders Binoy Viswom and Annie Raja, who had lost to Rahul Gandhi in the April-May elections, Sathyan Mokeri led a rally through Kalpetta before filing his nomination. Mokeri had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha polls from Wayanad in 2014. A former MLA from the Nadapuram constituency in Kozhikode district, Mokeri is known for his work in addressing issues faced by the agricultural sector. After the roadshow, Mokeri filed his nomination in the presence of LDF convener T P Ramakrishnan. Mokeri also questioned what the basis of Congress' election pitch this time would be. BJP's Haridas also filed her nomination for the Wayanad bypoll during the day in the presence of ex-BJP state president and former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan. Speaking with PTI, she alleged that the huge turnout for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's roadshow on Wednesday was ensured by bringing people from other districts of the state under false pretences. #indiatoday #priyankagandhivadra #wayanadbypolls #itwebvideos Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
