Member states urged to strengthen resources of OAS

Barbados wants member states of the Organisation of American States to commit to strengthening wherever possible, the resources of the OAS. Alternate Representative of Barbados to the OAS, Christobelle Reece says Barbados recognises member states have a duty to ensure the Organisation has the right level of resources required to carry out its mandate. According to Ms. Reece, the OAS continues to face long term financial challenges due to current and historic imbalances. She was at the time participating in a special session of the OAS General Assembly.
