Meta’s content moderation U-turn: Company to phase out active fact-checking

Social media giant Meta has announced the termination of its fact-checking program in the United States. Previously overseen by specialized research organizations, the initiative will be replaced by a community-based system, akin to the one implemented by X (formerly Twitter).
