Meta unveils the ‘most advanced’ AR glasses in the world

Meta has revealed new augmented reality glasses called Orion during the company’s Meta Connect 2024 conference. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said they are the “most advanced glasses the world has ever seen” which overlay holographic displays over the real world. Sky News Science & Technology Correspondent Brent O’Halloran said they essentially are a “chunky pair of Ray-Bans with some sophisticated tech inside”. Mr O’Halloran has said there are still some “unanswered questions, particularly around privacy and data collection” and no release date has been given for the AR glasses.
