The United Nations is lifting the curtain on its most important annual gathering as the Middle East and global politics are said to be at a "critical juncture". The UN General Assembly is set to open in New York against the backdrop of growing uncertainty over regional conflicts and leadership changes. Mitch McCann takes a look at the issues at play.
