Minister refutes claims of HOPE lawsuit

Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance Dwight Sutherland has refuted claims there is a lawsuit against the Home Ownership Providing Energy (HOPE) programme. He says a report carried in another section of the media was misleading and premature. The Housing Minister was speaking during a St. Michael South branch meeting at the Graydon Sealy Secondary School last evening. Mr. Sutherland adds that HOPE is the primary commercial state-owned enterprise responsible for building houses. He says questions were raised about the sixty million dollars in funds allotted to HOPE and he showed how the money was spent during the recent Estimates of Expenditure debates. Mr. Sutherland says the full sum has not yet been utilised.
