Minister urges residents to put faith in police

Some have described Mthatha as one of the most violent places in South Africa. Community leaders in the OR Tambo District of the Eastern Cape say they continue to lose hope in the police. While gender-based violence, taxi violence, and stock theft are among the common crimes, extortion, and cash-in-transit robberies are also becoming the norm.
