“Miracle”: NL town celebrates return of ‘Lucky 7’ fishing crew found on life raft

In Newfoundland and Labrador, the town of New-Wes-Valley is celebrating the return of seven fishermen who were miraculously found after going missing off the coast. It was last Wednesday when the crew's fishing boat suddenly vanished. But after a desperate search, the so-called 'Lucky Seven' were found safe on a life raft on Friday night. One of them told Global News they used their last flare to alert rescuers to their location. “We pulled off a miracle and we are so lucky that every one of us is alive,” rescued fisherman Davey Tiller said. And as if a warm welcome home wasn't enough, a parade was held in the town to celebrate the safe return of the fishermen as well as the rescue crews who found them.
