Misinformation bill was the ‘final straw’ for the Labor Party

Former deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce slams the misinformation bill as the “final straw” for the Labor Party. His remarks come after the government dumped its misinformation and disinformation bill after it became clear the Opposition and Greens would oppose the bill in the Senate. “This shabby, decrepit, blanket over democracy is not even going to make it to the Vinnies bin this one, it’s going straight to the tip where it will be burnt,” Mr Joyce said. “I bet you there will be no obituaries tomorrow in parliament saying how terrible this is.”
