Modi condemns "deliberate attack" at Hindu temple in Canada as 3 charged

Three people have now been charged and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a statement on X condemning demonstrations under investigation for alleged “acts of unlawfulness” that first began outside a Hindu temple in Ontario on Sunday. "I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada," Modi's post said. According to Peel Regional Police on Monday morning, three people were arrested and charged over the incident with other alleged acts still under investigation. Video circulating on X appeared to show people using flagpoles to strike others.
