Montreal port workers lose wage guarantee amid unlimited partial strike

The Maritime Employers Association (MEA) says that as of next week, it will no longer guarantee wages for dock workers at the Port of Montreal due to an ongoing unlimited partial strike. The strike has shut down the Viau and Maisonneuve terminals until further notice, paralyzing 40 per cent of the port’s total container-handling capacity, the Port of Montreal has said.
