More than 30 people killed after passenger plane crashes in Kazakhstan

Officials in Kazakhstan say 38 people have died after an aircraft en route to Russia from Azerbaijan crashed near the city of Aktau. The cause of the crash is not yet known, but Russian authorities suggested it may have followed a bird strike. The plane was travelling from the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, to the Russian city of Grozny when it suddenly diverted to Kazakhstan. Warning: Distressing footage.
