Moscow: Kyiv behind deadly strike in Russia
Russia sought a UN Security Council meeting Saturday to condemn what it said was an "indiscriminate" Ukrainian missile and rocket attack on a city near the border. Kyiv did not immediately claim responsibility for the strike on Belgorod, which killed 18 and wounded 111, according to Russian authorities. Moscow said Ukraine fired two missiles and a large number of rockets into the center of the city, damaging 22 apartment buildings and more than 100 cars. The Russian Foreign Ministry said the United States and Britain incited Ukraine to conduct the attack. It came one day after Russia killed 40 people in its largest wave of strikes since the start of the conflict. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia attacked more than 100 cities and towns, damaging hundreds of civilian structures. Russia's military said it only targets military facilities and related infrastructure in Ukraine. #Belgorod #RussiaUkraineConflict #UNSC Watch CGTN LIVE on your computer, tablet or mobile https://cgtnamerica.vhx.tv/videos/hd-live-broadcasts Subscribe to CGTN America on YouTube Follow CGTN America: Twitter: @cgtnamerica Facebook: @cgtnamerica Instagram: @cgtnamerica TikTok: @newstoks This material is distributed by MediaLinks TV, LLC on behalf of CCTV.
