Mountain Fire destroys local farmer's Fall harvest

A local farmer from Somis not only lost his avocado orchard, he lost his dream and his retirement plan. Sergio Acevedo’s avocado orchard was destroyed by the Mountain Fire that scorched over 20,000 acres in Ventura County. What the flames spared, the winds destroyed knocking fruit from the trees about six weeks before the harvest.
