Mps demand Minister Anite's resignation over Tibet-Hima contract in Kampala
Parliament's Environment and Natural Resources Committee has called for the resignation of State Minister for Finance in charge of Privatization and Investment, Evelyn Anite, over the termination of a concession with the Chinese company Tibet Hima Mining Company. The parliamentary inquiry followed a petition submitted in April 2024 by the company, requesting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the termination of its 25-year contract to manage, rehabilitate, and operate Kilembe Mines. Minister Anite has rejected the calls for her resignation, standing by her decision to terminate the concession. Meanwhile, Parliament has adopted the committee’s report, albeit with amendments. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
