Narendra Modi election rally: Opposition accuses Indian PM of hate speech
India's prime minister is being accused of hate speech for comments he made about Muslims at an election rally in western Rajasthan state at the weekend. Narendra Modi said if the opposition Congress came to power again, Muslims would have first rights to India's assets. The opposition has hit back, accusing Modi of trying to divert voter attention from the real issues. Nearly a billion Indians are voting in parliamentary elections. Modi is seeking a third term. Mohan Krishna is spokesperson for Bharatiya Janata Party, the governing Indian political party. He says unlike the opposition the BJP does not appease minorities.
