NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who became the first crew to fly the Boeing Starliner in June, said they "found some things that we just could not get comfortable with" after their unmanned spacecraft returned to Earth on Sept. 6 after being hobbled by technical issues. Wilmore and Williams, who were holding a press conference on Friday from the ISS (International Space Station), will return to Earth on a SpaceX vehicle in February 2025. "We found some things that we just could not get comfortable with, putting us back in the Starliner when we had other options. There's many cases in the past where there have not been other options. We were very fortunate that we have the space station, and that we had the option to stay and we had the option to come back a different way," Wilmore said. Their mission was stricken by thruster failures and helium leaks. For months, Wilmore and Williams’ return was in question as engineers struggled to understand the capsule’s problems.
