Nation Sports: Samuels confident in Women’s U-19 squad

West Indies women’s Under-19 coach Robert Samuels is optimistic that the squad heading off to compete in the ICC Under-19 T20 Women’s World Cup in Malaysia will put in a strong performance in Asia. The 20-member squad departed for Malaysia on Thursday night for the tournament which will take place between January 18 and February 2. Samuels, who took over the squad in June last year, said that although the majority of the squad was rather inexperienced, what he saw in the specialised camps and various tours in 2024 imbued him with confidence.
