Nation Update: Chinese hybrid unveiled

China continues to deepen its economic ties with Barbados with the introduction of one of its vehicles here over the weekend. The Tank 500 SUV, manufactured by Chinese company Great Wall Motors, was launched for the first time in the region on Saturday by local distributors Caribbean Automotive Retailers at Haymans Market in St Peter. Chinese Ambassador to Barbados Yan Xiusheng was among the officials attending the event. He said GWM was one of the top ten Chinese automobile manufacturers with more than one million vehicles sold globally in 2023. Video by Reco Moore.
