Nation Update: Fire Service work stoppage

Fire officers attached to the station of the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) temporarily walked off the job Wednesday morning, as they called for a resolution to issues with security at the airport fire station. For close to two hours the workers were locked in discussions with personnel from the Grantley Adams International Airport and the Chief Fire Officer, Errol Maynard following the early morning demonstration. At the conclusion of the talks, chairman of the Barbados Fire Service Association, Corrie Bridgeman, informed the media that the morning protest was the result of several calls from staff regarding ongoing issues relative to security.
