Nine years after the headline-making news of the death of six-yearold Jahan King, his still grieving grandmother Enid Browne, wants to know why it is taking so long for the criminal trial to begin. Jahan’s mother, Lasanta Gill and her boyfriend, Dwayne Marshall, were charged on April 25, 2016 with killing him. A post-mortem revealed that the child’s death on June 29, 2015, was as a result of blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen. When the Sunday Sun caught up with Browne, 74, Jahan’s paternal grandmother, at her Deacons Farm, St Michael home last week, she expressed dismay that the trial had not gotten off the ground as she questioned why it was taking so long.
