Nation Update: New Barrel Bond

Players in the rum industry gathered at Mount Gay Distilleries in St Lucy yesterday for the launch of a new barrel bond. The facility, which holds 18 000 barrels, is state-of-the-art with fire prevention and mitigation systems and a cellar where airflow and its effects on evaporation can be controlled and measured. The event included a plaque reveal and samples of 25-year-old rum as well as a tour of the new bond. (Video by Shanice King)
