Nation Update: Police give mom news of son’s death

When Sue Benn heard the words “fatal accident” she knew her son Ron Benn was gone. She told a Nation team the last time she saw him, he was getting ready to go to a staff party. Ron, 41, of Rose Hill, St Peter and his friend Antonio Bishop, 37, of Alleynedale, St Lucy died in an early morning accident on Sunday along Bennetts Road, St James when the car in which they were travelling struck a utility pole. A man and woman, whose identities have not been made public, were injured and transported to the hospital by ambulance. They were also in the same vehicle.
