National Peace Programme reaping significant benefits
The National Peace Programme, which recently passed its one-year mark, continues to reap significant benefits. This is according to Minister of State in the Office of the Attorney General with a focus on Crime Prevention, Corey Lane. He says initiatives implemented by the Peace Programme have been recording high enrolment rates. This includes a seaside aquatics swimming programme in St. Lucy, officially launched this morning. Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw says the Ministry has been working with the Peace Programme to help at risk students in the school system. She says she is particularly supportive of the newly launched swimming initiative which seeks to teach children of primary school age how to swim.
