NCS UNDERLINES PLANS TO TAP INTO GRASSROOTS
The recent success at the 13th African Games has reenergized government's desire to embark on a thorough talent identification and development process. This has been highlighted by national council of sports general secretary Dr Patrick Ogwel. The 13th African Games that have climaxed in Ghana have confirmed that sports made in Uganda is alive. For starters, Uganda finished with a decent medal haul of 20 which placed us 13th overall which is the best ever performance in the 59 history of the Games. But because success at such a stage comes with demand from the public for better results, national council of sports has set out a deliberate plan to advise parents to interest their children into sports in order to grow numbers starting early.
