NEMA JUSTIFIES TREE REMOVAL IN LUBIGI RESTORATION EXERCISE

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has clarified on why the authority cut down trees during the Lubigi restoration exercise. In an interview with UBC, Executive Director Dr Akankwasah Barirega said that the tree species that had been illegally planted in Lubigi would hinder natural regeneration of the wetland because the species are not eco-friendly for the wetland.
