New book chronicles Singapore's evolving hawker scene

Singapore's evolving hawker scene has been chronicled in a new book. Its author, Professor Lily Kong, hopes her book will get more people involved in preserving Singapore's hawker culture, especially with its UNESCO recognition. At the book's launch, Professor Kong spoke on how hawker culture has become a core part of Singapore's history, how new cuisines have popped up over the years, and how the hawker centre has modernised.
