New Orleans’ 'inexcusable' lack of security slammed after deadly New Year's Day incid

Former US Secret Service Tim Miller claims the lack of security protocols in New Orleans is “inexcusable”. His remarks come after Shamsud Din Jabbar drove a vehicle into a crowd on New Year's Day – killing at least 15 people and injuring 30 others. “Security protocols in advance work, that’s the key to security,” Mr Miller said. “I’ve seen reporting suggesting they’ve tried to get those … barriers repaired for over a year and a half. “It’s inexcusable that in this case, Jabbar was simply able to drive around a police car and be right in a lane where he could kill and hurt so many people.”
