New South Wales blackout warning ‘should not be shocking’

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan claims AEMO’s warning of potential blackouts in New South Wales “shouldn’t be shocking”. Mr Canavan’s remarks come as the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) forecasts a risk of blackouts on electricity grids in NSW starting from Tuesday, as a heatwave is set to hit most of the state. “This is what the regulator’s been saying for years and warning us of happening,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray. “What we are doing right now in investing pretty much exclusively in solar, wind, and energy is not working.”
