New South Wales ‘had to’ extend the life of coal-fired power plants

Nationals MP Keith Pitt says New South Wales extended the life of coal-fired power plants because they “had to”. Mr Pitt does not believe the Albanese government’s 82 per cent renewables target is “achievable or practical”. “As I’ve said, we’ve already seen New South Wales extend coal because you have to,” he told Sky News Australia. “You’ll need gas because you’ll absolutely have to have gas, and that’s just the reality of where we’re at.”
