The Supreme Court has stayed all proceedings related to disputes over religious sites, maintaining a status quo on the Places of Worship Act 1991. This interim order puts a halt to immediate disputes over places of worship such as Gyanvapi and Mathura. The court has directed the Centre to file its response within four weeks, challenging the Act's constitutional validity. The Act, which prohibits changing the religious character of places of worship as they existed on 15 August 1947, faces debates on its impact on religious rights. Experts suggest that the case could take five to six years to resolve, indicating a prolonged legal process ahead. The court faces the challenge of balancing this case with numerous other pending matters before larger benches. #supremecourt #placeofworshipact #delhielections #arvindkejriwal #courthearings #itwebvideos #statusquo #secularism #judicialprocess #legalchallenges #religiousdisputes #placesofworshipact #communalharmony #gyanvapi #constitutionalmatters #indianjudiciary #supremecourt #mandirmasjid #legalbattle #mathura #indiatoday #interfaithrelations #constitutionalvalidity #constitutionalrights Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
