Welcome to Nightly Films, a long form series explaining our world, one video at a time. Hundreds of Woodstock festivalgoers are reliving their memories for an ongoing project by the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Over 1,200 oral histories have been recorded as the center seeks to preserve the meaningful stories. NBC News’ Anne Thompson reports. Musician Carlos Santana celebrates the 25th anniversary of his hit album “Supernatural” and speaks with NBC News’ José Diaz-Balart about his legacy of music and what motivates him to keep creating after more than half a century. While tango originated in Argentina, the beloved dance form arrived in Paris in the early 1900s and quickly caught on. Tango music was influenced by styles from places like Europe and Africa. NBC News explores open-air dances in Paris that attract people from all over the world. Brooke Shields got her start at a young age as a model and actor, and she’s not going anywhere. She talks with NBC News’ Kate Snow about young fame, re-inventing her career and her new hair care line, Commence. Surveillance footage captured an unfathomable winter morning crime that shook Wichita, Kansas and the country, leaving more questions than answers: Who would steal a statue of Jackie Robinson, the barrier-breaking hall of famer? The alleged thief would eventually plead guilty, but it was the efforts of a community, the wife of a late sculptor, and artists at a bronze casting foundry in Colorado that made Jackie’s return a reality earlier this month. NBC News’ Morgan Chesky followed the months-long process and 550-mile journey of number 42’s monumental homecoming. Ismael Cruz Córdova is a fighter. He grew up in Puerto Rico and came to New York with all of his belongings in two laundry bags. The actor traveled around the world and was told “no” three times before ultimately getting cast in ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.’ For six months out of the year, Captain Noah Barnes welcomes guests aboard the Stephen Taber, a 153-year-old schooner off the coast of Rockland, Maine. He says rising costs since 2019 are a challenge he has passed along to passengers, yet he is nearly fully booked through the season’s end in October, part of an upward travel budget trend. He’s also clear-eyed about the economy for others: he’s raised pay for his crew and yet some members choose to live aboard the ship due to high housing costs on the mainland. NBC News’ Christine Romans reports. With the recent conclusion of the Olympic Games in Paris, a celebration of a French star: the Eiffel Tower.
