During her Interim Budget speech, Sitharaman had announced the government's intention to release a white paper highlighting the economic mismanagement during the 10 years of UPA rule until 2014. Highlighting the significant progress made by the NDA government in overcoming the challenges of those years, Sitharaman emphasized that the economy is now firmly on a sustainable growth trajectory, marked by comprehensive development. She said, "It is now fitting to reflect on the period until 2014 and our current status, solely for the purpose of extracting lessons from the mismanagement of those years.
