“No credible intelligence” to suggest Jan. 6 riot could happen again, Capitol police say
Officials from the Capitol Police, Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI held a press conference on Friday to discuss security measures ahead of next week’s certification of electoral votes and the State funeral for former president Jimmy Carter. “There's no credible intelligence that we expect a mass demonstration like we had four years ago,” said Chief J. Thomas Manger of the United States Capitol Police. He added “But there's always the lone wolf, always the person who's operating by themselves, and you have no warning about those individuals.” “That's what occurred in this past few days (New Orleans truck attack, Tesla Cybertruck explosion) these were folks that were by themselves. There was no way for anybody to know about what they were planning,” Manger said.
