Labor's 23-year grip on power in the ACT is in jeopardy – as a sharp rise in the independent vote has the Canberra Liberal Party within striking distance of forming government as votes continue to be counted. At this stage, Labor is most likely to form a minority government, and there will be no majority government in the ACT. There remains a narrow path for the Canberra Liberal Party to form a minority government. The Greens vote has fallen dramatically with only one of their previously held eight seats currently being held.
